Varsity Athletics Communications Intern

(formerly Sports Information Intern)

Dartmouth College is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic individual for an intern position in the office of varsity athletics communications (sports information).  The intern will assist the director and other staff members in publicizing Dartmouth's 34 varsity sports through publications, web sites, media relations, and record-keeping.  The position will provide practical experience in the sports information field to enable the individual to pursue a full-time career in the profession upon completion of the internship.

 The successful candidate should possess the appropriate combination of:

• Bachelor's degree in sports information, sports management, English, journalism, or a related field.
• Previous experience in a college sports information office for a minimum of one year. Newspaper writing experience for a minimum of six months preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with coaches and student-athletes in a diverse community.
• Proficient computer skills in Stat Crew, PhotoShop, Word, HTML, and InDesign.
• Must work nights and weekends.
