Stonehill College Athletic Communications Internship

Stonehill College, an NCAA Division II institution and member of the Northeast-10 Conference, is seeking applications for the position of Athletic Communications Intern.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, or related field. Experience as an undergraduate in intercollegiate athletics is also a plus. 

A demonstrated knowledge of Stat Crew Automated Scorebook is essential to be considered. In addition, a working knowledge of computer applications (InDesign and Photoshop) is extremely beneficial.

The successful candidate will be responsible for all facets of several varsity sports under the supervision of the Director of Athletic Communications. 

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to: writing press releases, assisting with the production of media guides and recruiting brochures, reporting to the NCAA and conference offices, keeping statistics during games, updating the official athletics website (www.stonehillskyhawks.com) and maintaining historical archives. Some game management responsibilities will also be included.

Availability to travel, work nights and weekends is required.

A competitive salary ($18,500 with medical benefits) and a food stipend are available for this full-time, 10-month, full-time position, which runs from August 2008 through May 2009.
