Sports Information DirectorDOWLING COLLEGE INVITES APPLICANTS FOR THE FULL-TIME POSITION OF DIRECTOR OF ATHLETIC COMMUNICATIONS THE COLLEGE: Located in the heart of Long Island, the main campus is situated on the banks of the Connetquot River in Oakdale. In recent years, Dowling College has become one of the most successful Division II athletic programs in the Northeast, is a member of the New York Athletic Conference and sponsors fourteen (14) varsity sports. DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES: The Director of Athletic Communications is responsible for the dissemination and development of media exposure for all fourteen (14) varsity sports Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the management and cultivation of local, state and national media outlets, creation of department wide public relations plan which outlines aggressive strategy to penetrate local market, provide statistical and game operational support for all home contests, write and distribute press releases, coordinate the layout and design of all department collateral, manage staff of graduate assistants and student employees, update and maintain archives for all sports, organize and plan for year end awards banquet and assist in athletic program promotional activities and events. Salary will be commensurate with experience. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree requires, Master's preferred. Two years relevant experience in college or professional sports venue required.
