ECAC-SIDA Awards deadline approaching

Dear ECAC-SIDA Members,
  
I hope your winter seasons are going well and that you're all geared up for the holidays. ECAC-SIDA presents several major awards at its annual workshop. The deadline for nominations for this year's awards is December 31, 2010. We hope you will take the time to think of those worthy enough to receive these awards, and submit a nomination on their behalf. The Board relies on nominations from the membership in order to honor such deserving individuals.

Bill Esposito Award
- presented to a graduating college senior who wishes to pursue a career in athletic communications. The award is named to honor the memory of one of the true patriarchs of the sports information profession.
  
University Division Marsh Award - presented annually to an ECAC Sports Information Directors Association member who, in the opinion of the ECAC-SIDA membership and Executive Board, has exhibited excellence in the field of sports information. The University Division winner will come from a Division I or a Division II conference or school.
 
College Division Marsh Award - presented annually to an ECAC Sports Information Directors Association member who, in the opinion of the ECAC-SIDA membership and Executive Board, has exhibited excellence in the field of sports information. The College Division winner will come from a Division III, NAIA or Junior College conference or school.  
 
The Bob Kenworthy Award - Named in honor of long-time Gettysburg College sports information director Bob Kenworthy presented at the discretion of the ECAC-SIDA Executive Board to a person or organization (excluding vendors) for contributions to the corporation and mission of ECAC-SIDA.
  
ECAC-SIDA Media Award - presented to an individual in either print or electronic media "for outstanding coverage of eastern college athletics."  
 
Pete Nevins Award for Distinguished Achievement - presented to an individual in recognition of his or her advancement of the field of athletic communications and advocacy for intercollegiate athletics (must have served at least 25 years in sports information field).  
 
Nominations must be completed online via the ECAC-SIDA website. Letters of recommendation may be emailed to Adrienne Mullikin at mullikin@hood.edu.  
 
Nominations for the Bill Esposito Award have a deadline of February 28, 2011 and may be completed online as well, or nominations may be e-mailed to Kevin Beattie, College Division Representative, at beattk@rpi.edu.
